Disclaimer and advertiser disclosure
Effective October 28, 2026. Plain answers to "who pays for this?" and "how far can I rely on it?"
We're a referral service
4Wheels is an independent publisher and referral service. We are not a lender, insurer, insurance agency or producer, broker, dealer, auto transport carrier or vehicle service contract provider. We don't make credit decisions, issue policies, buy or sell vehicles, or transport them. Products and services described on the site are provided by third parties.
Advertiser and partner disclosure
4Wheels is free because we're paid by advertisers and partners. We may receive compensation when you submit a request through our matching service or click certain links. Compensation may affect which partners we work with and where their offers appear, but it does not affect our calculator results or the content of our guides. We don't cover every company or offer available in the market.
Display advertising is provided by Google AdSense. Ads are labelled and served by Google; their appearance isn't an endorsement.
Not financial, legal or mechanical advice
Our content is general information. It isn't financial, investment, tax, legal, insurance or mechanical advice and doesn't consider your personal circumstances. Laws, taxes, insurance requirements and incentives vary by country, state and province and change over time. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions.
Calculator results are estimates
Calculators use standard formulas and the assumptions shown on each page. Results depend entirely on the numbers you enter and don't reflect actual offers, credit approval, taxes, fees or vehicle values. Depreciation and maintenance tools use typical patterns, not appraisals or manufacturer schedules — your owner's manual is the authority for your vehicle.
Government data
VIN decoding and recall searches use public data from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, provided as is. Results may be incomplete or delayed. NHTSA does not endorse 4Wheels. For a definitive open-recall check for a specific car, search its VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Videos and external links
Embedded videos belong to their creators and are shown via YouTube. External links are provided for convenience; we don't control or endorse their content.
Accuracy
We work hard to keep information accurate and current, but errors happen and things change. If something looks wrong, please tell us.
